Are you growing ?

    Growth is an inseparable element in the life of a human being. Everyone wishes to grow in every sphere of their life.  Certainly, physical and psychological growth  becomes the center of one's life and spiritual life is ignored.    What about spiritual growth? St. Augustine would say "My soul is restless until it reaches unto You" .  Only the one who has a divine spark within will feel the restlessness of the soul. In reality, all have received it.   If the soul is at rest, no growth happens.   As a tree normally growing towards the sun, the human soul is also growing towards its divine origin. Is my soul at rest or growing?  The perfect growth of the soul is seen in the establishment of the Kingdom of God in one's life. The enlargement of material kingdom brings worldly pleasures and worldly allurements.  But  the  Kingdom of God  brings  inner  joy and happiness irrespective of  unexpected events of life.  Intrinsically, men longs for this spiritual happiness rather than material joy but unfortunately they take a long time for this realization of it.  


A question to reflect on............

    Am I able to handle daily uncertain events of life?....................... if so, I am growing ............if not.?................ Need to grow..............

  Today we celebrate Mother’s Day. All of us have experienced the great love and sacrifice of our mothers. If we are where we are today, I firmly believe that the loving hand and prayers of our mothers have guided us. Therefore, I appreciate and congratulate all the mothers present here today. At the same time, let us pray for our own mothers. Every one of us has a mother. Whether they are living or have gone to eternal rest, let us remember them in our prayers today. I wish all mothers a blessed Mother’s Day, and I thank you for your love, care, and sacrifices. Dear brothers and sisters, all the readings today invite us to desire something greater — something beyond material blessings. They invite us to long for the gift of God Himself.
